Students often ask me, “What kind of yoga is this?”
I usually chuckle and say, It’s Carrie Yoga.
My classes provide an avenue for awakening connections between mind and muscle and for remodeling imbalances in the body. If you’ve been to other yoga classes, some of what we practice will feel familiar. You’ll also find elements from strength training classes at a gym or physical therapy sessions. If you are looking for stretch or yin yoga then I may not be the teacher for you. My classes are technical and challenging with a focus on biomechanics and building strength.
I have been practicing and teaching yoga for over a decade and am RYT 200 certified with Yoga Alliance. I am a runner and former sixth grade teacher, hold a masters degree in nursing and love all things yoganatomy. When I’m not contemplating biomechanics I hang with my husband, almost-teenaged son, and my dog.
