Years of running, lousy posture, and toddler-hoisting began to speak to me through my hip flexors, and a friend suggested I try yoga. She promised
I would like it, and I was sure that it would be boring. After my first yoga class,
I was hooked.
For over ten years yoga has been my teacher, an avenue for exploring my love
for yoganatomy and remodeling imbalances in my body. I still run, but I also dream of handstands in the center of the room. I am grateful for Billy Gill, Gabe Hendrie, Stephen Ewashkiw, and Hagar Harpak- for their valuable instruction,
encouragement, direction, and knowledge.
My classes are technical, challenging and fun with a focus on biomechanics and building strength.
Carrie is spectacular at recreating her in-person yoga class through an online medium. I'm grateful to continue my practice with her and benefit from her attention to detail, knowledge of biomechanics, creativity, and heart.
Carrie’s classes have been a wonderful break to my stay-at-home life. She was one of my favorite instructors at YogaRock, so it was a no brainer to try her online classes. I can only imagine how hard it is to be funny and engaging when talking to an iPad, but she’s fantastic and does a great job of making you feel like you are in the studio. Her classes don’t feel like intense workouts while you are doing them but by evening every muscle we worked is speaking to me. I am looking forward to the day when I can take her classes in person again!
The reason I keep returning to Carrie's classes is that her prompts are concise and purposeful. She creates each class with the intent of helping her students' practice grow safely while improving strength. She plans all of her classes to improve her students' foundation, not just with regards to yoga principles, but also as it pertains to achieving a more stable and balanced body.
Carrie is an excellent teacher and has helped me bring my practice to a place where I can focus on challenging myself to new levels but never sustain an injury from pushing too hard. At the same time she places a huge emphasis on working at your own level and offers multiple ways to hold a pose for the beginner to the very advanced and all levels in between. She's the very best yoga instructor I've ever had.
